　　China has attached increasing importance to public libraries and encouraged people to make full use of them. The recent statistics showed that the number of libraries in China is seeing an annual growth. Many libraries boast more peaceful and comfortable environment as a result of renovation and expansion. Some big ones not only have numerous kinds of reference books available but also serve as the places for regular lectures and exhibitions. Recent years has witnessed the emergence of many digital libraries intended to save the space needed to store books. Some of them have launched self-service systems, which are meant to further meet the needs of readers to borrow and return the books conveniently.

　　解析

　　1 句式上，第一二句有重合名词“图书馆”，所以可以连成并列句型或者定语从句。

　　词汇上，越来越常用词：increasing / growing / rising

　　利用：tap into / make use of

　　2 可用“主语+feature+宾语”的固定句式。

　　3 两个句子实为因果关系，可连状语从句。用as a result of ...连接。

　　4 两个句子为递进关系，可用not only ...but also连成状语从句。词汇上，提供可用have...available这样的表达。

　　5 近年来作为主语，用固定句式recent years has witnessed ...

　　“从而”可以理解成表目的，用intended to ...连接

Many libraries have created a quieter and more comfortable environment for readers through renovation and expansion. There’re not only a wide variety of reference materials but also other activities including lectures, and exhibitions regularly held in large public libraries. In recent years, numerous digital libraries have also emerged, thus saving the space needed to store books. Some libraries have also introduced/ launched a self-service system that makes it easier for readers to borrow and return books, further satisfying/ meeting the needs /demands of readers.

　　可以用There be句型处理，将大型公共图书馆变成地点状语，置于句尾。

　　“种类繁多的”可以使用表达：a wide variety of

　　“讲座、展览等活动”暗含包含关系other activities including lectures and exhibitions

　　[定期举办的]做(讲座、展览等活动)的定语，表示一种隐含的被动关系，可以用非谓语held后置进行翻译，即other activities including lectures and exhibitions regularly held…

　　前两个分句可以处理成定语从句，后面句宾语(读者借书还书)较长，可以用it做形式宾语
