　　希望工程(Project Hope)是以救助贫困地区失学儿童为目的，于1989年发起的一项公益事业。宗旨是帮助贫困地区失学儿童重返校园，建设希望小学，改善落后地区办学条件。其中建设希望小学与资助贫困学生是希望工程的两大主要任务。希望工程给失学儿童带来了希望，改善了农村的教学条件，让人们更加重视教育，促进了基础教育的发展;弘扬了扶贫济困、助人为乐的优良传统，促进了社会主义精神文明建设。
